About me

Hi, my name is Amanda.

I began my training with Relate in 1999, the UK's largest provider of relationship support and soon went on to complete my Counselling Skills Certificate. I continued studying via Hertfordshire County Council and attend all their training workshops. This led me onto completing a Level 4 SAC Dip in Addiction Counselling (2014). I am proudly BAC acredited, with certificates in 12 areas of health and social care (2016).

I spent many years working with young people, including those with EBD (Emotional Behaviour Disorder) delivering anger management in secondary schools. The last 10 years of my career have been focused mainly on addiction, both facilitating groups of up to 45 people and working with clients on a 1:1 basis. Throughout my career, I have gained an invaluable amount of experience and knowledge.

I am open-minded, passionate and strongly believe that no one is a hopeless case. I have 2 grown up daughters and a new granddaughter which fill my life with joy.

Having been on a personal self-discovery journey of my own for the last 25 years; I aspire to give hope to others who struggle with life, or those who simply want to make life less stressful which led me to launch StressLess.
